I would like to highlight a blog that I like a lot. It’s a photoblog titled A sip of coffeeness, by one of my students. This photoblog reflects his personality – thoughtful and reflective 🙂

This year he is participating in a 52-week photography challenge. Each Wednesday, he posts one image depicting the concept/word for the week on his blog page. Each week, if you feel like visiting his blog, let him know if you would like a free photo print. He will choose one of his captures, do a draw (if required), and post a 5×7 postcard print of the capture to you. It will be accompanied by a 52 words or less short story which will only be shared exclusively with you. If you would like to take a snap of it and share with others, that’s a different story. However, you cannot win more than three times.

I’ve already won my print so decided to share the perks by promoting the blog to other people in my network. Feel free to contact Raheel through his photoblog. Wish you all the best! Next week’s theme: Mirrored Image.

Through this post I would like to thank A Worried Student for honoring my request to create blog headers for my blogs. The style used – graffiti art. Despite being a worried student who had exams a week ago, they agreed to create not one but two blog headers, one each for my two blogs! So, this is my way of saying Thank You! Interesting blog and art work. The art work I checked on A Worried Student’s blog has also got me interested in learning this art. Do check their blog. If you want, you can also place your own request 🙂

Here is the graffiti art blog header for Oblivion:

And, this one is the graffiti art blog header for my Mandala Project:

‘Why do you?’, I wonder sometimes. Why would you be interested in what I am posting, I wonder at other times. Does your following my blog affect what, how, and how often I blog, I ask myself. Still, no definite answers.

So, if you would like to, do share your reason(s). And, thank you.

I’ve finally done it. Setting up the special blog to keep an online journal of my mandalas. I started painting them starting Feb 28, 2014. However, did not keep a record of my reflections (too lazy). On Thursday, I finally decided to create a separate blog for it. Found an appropriate theme for the blog (what are the chances!) and voila! It’s up and running now 🙂 My Mandala Project blog.

Years ago, a teacher shared this quote:

“I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”

He attributed it to Voltaire. I googled it again today and found out that it is usually mis-attributed to Voltaire. It is actually a phrase from Evelyn Beatrice Hall’s biography of Voltaire.

This quote has stuck with me from the day I first heard it. There are times during discussions when I become impatient about the other participant’s opinion/views about something. On such occasions, I remember this quote and it gives me perspective. It isn’t easy to apply the message from this quote in one’s life, especially during a heated discussion. However, it is possible to learn to apply it through practice. That’s all I intend to do 🙂
